Fight and Build, Inc. is a registered public benefit corporation in the state of California since February 2009 with a pending application for federal tax-exemption as a 501c3 non-profit organization.

On our projected timeline we expect to begin programming, outreach, and fundraising activities in April 2010 or sooner.

The purpose of Fight and Build is to provide charitable and educational programs to empower individuals and build community.  We intend to do this through developing, teaching, and disseminating educational materials and activities to the public relating to various arts, holistic well-being, positive interpersonal skills, environmental awareness, personal and neighborhood safety, and eliminating prejudice and discrimination through creatively integrating activities, publications, workshops, lectures, art, the Internet or otherwise. 

The primary objectives and purposes of this corporation shall be:

a)      to provide charitable and educational programs to empower individuals and build community. 

b)      to provide such charitable and educational programs through, but not limited to developing, teaching, and disseminating educational material and activities to the public relating to various arts, personal development, holistic well-being, positive interpersonal skills, environmental awareness, personal and neighborhood safety, community building, and eliminating prejudice and discrimination through integrating activities, publications, workshops, lectures, art, the Internet, special events, or otherwise in creative new formats as well as the traditional formats.

c)      to provide education and instruction in fitness, nutrition, body movement, athletics, dance, martial arts, meditation, outdoor activities, safety, survival, emergency, and life skills, while supporting and integrating educational aspects listed above.

d)      to provide leadership and confidence building opportunities for young women and girls through sports training, participation in amateur sports competition, academic support, job development, life skills training, health education, involvement with the board of directors, and other activities to support and empower underprivileged young women and girls.

e)      to combat community deterioration and juvenile delinquency by providing opportunities for underserved and underprivileged populations, inner-city and at-risk youth, disabled people, seniors, low-income individuals and families, and other marginalized people to participate in our programs and reduce the impact of poverty by supporting basic needs and connecting resources.

f)        to fundraise to support programs and assistance for low-income and underprivileged participants.

g)      to directly engage in and to provide facilities for others to engage in the promotion of community building and cross-cultural bridge building, thereby reducing prejudice and discrimination and lessening neighborhood tensions.
