Progressive Martial Arts
has redefined the warrior way by creating a truly
updated system. The structure remains traditional and
maintains a belt system to track progress, but the
curriculum includes a modern study of social justice
philosophy, an integrated approach to traditional and
modern fighting systems, and science-based fitness.
Classes are 90 minutes long to ensure proper warm-up,
real martial arts instruction, and optimal conditioning
with individual attention. The physical
conditioning utilizes rigorous "old school" martial arts
bodyweight exercises and the Optimum Performance
Training method researched and designed by the National
Academy of Sports Medicine. Students are
continually evaluated for posture and muscle imbalances
then prescribed corrective exercises. Flexibility,
proprioceptive, and core stabilizer training are
foundational and will reduce the likelihood of many
common everyday injuries. Interval training
circuits maximize the efficiency of the workout and core
stability work is routine to promote functional
strength.

self-defense including Blauer Tactical's SPEAR system.
All ranges and applications are covered, from ground to
stand up, from sport to street, from film choreography
to practical flinch and adrenaline responses, from
unarmed to armed, from traditional weapons to modern
firearms. The aim is to produce well-rounded, socially
responsible, courageous, compassionate, and informed
modern warriors. Progressive Martial Arts values
the old ways while embracing the advancing human
evolution.
